Third Annual Ecoroof Portland Event

This FREE event will take place Friday, March 18th at the Oregon Convention Center. Highlights include:

Vendor Fair

Over 40 ecoroof designers, installers, and suppliers will be on-hand to display their projects, products, and services. 

Presentations

10-11am: An Introduction to Ecoroofs
This session will provide an ecoroof primer, including a description of costs and benefits, incentives and resources available for Portland residents.

1-2 pm: Wolfgang Ansel: A comparison of Green Roof Policies in Europe, Asia and the US: Requirements for the Successful Development of a Green Roof Market
Wolfgang Ansel is currently the Director of the International Green Roof Association (IGRA) in Stuttgart, Germany. IGRA`s targets include the worldwide promotion of the ecological Green Roof idea, an international knowledge transfer in the field of Green roofs and the stimulation of international standards for good practices and reliable Green Roof technology.

2-3 pm: Paul Kephart: Trends and Innovations for Green Roofs Today
Paul Kephart is the President of Rana Creek Habitat Restoration in Carmel, California. Paul has applied his ecological design training on noteworthy large-scale architectural icons, including Gap Headquarters, California Academy of Sciences, and the Vancouver Convention Center.

Live Demonstration

Students and faculty from the Academy of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE Academy) and the Roofers Union Apprenticeship Training Program will be working throughout the day to construct a demonstration ecoroof project!
