Alford Acres Charrette

You are invited to a design charrette for Alford Acres the Urban Farm (land owned by Habitat for Humanity) on Wednesday, August 17 at Arts Central-the Rademacher House (875 NW Brooks Street) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The purpose of the design charrette is to develop ideas for an urban farm that would grow produce and provide food for the non-profit and volunteer managed cafe Common Table.

If you would like to drop-in anytime between 9-12 to give your ideas, that would be great. From 12-12:30, the final conceptual design will be displayed at the Riverfront Plaza and at the Farmer's Market.

This activity is the launch of a national public awareness campaign for landscape architects and their collaborative efforts in communities for sustainability. On 08.17.11 at noon, there will be similar events in other states. All through Oregon, there will be coordinated activities spotlighting landscape architects in Portland, Bend, Eugene, Springfield, Salem, Hood River, Sisters, Corvallis, and Medford. It would be great if you would join in and help us in this fun and creative and collaborative activity that will benefit the community!

Attached is a flyer for additional information and if you have any questions, feel free to give me a call at (541) 383-4786.

See you Wednesday!

All the best, Robin Gyorgyfalvy, ASLA Oregon Public Awareness Advocate
