Happy new year friends and colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the topic for our January Meeting and invite you to attend and participate. This month we are featuring a panel discussion entitled “The Realm of Art in the Realm of Projects.” Our panel will include;
Lee Imonen
Public art sculptor and Instructor, Department of Art and Applied Design at Lane Community College www.leeimonen.com
Isaac Marquez
Artist and Public Art Manager for the Cultural Services Division of the City of Eugene
Douglas Beauchamp
Executive Director of Playa, a facility near Summer Lake in Lake County offering residencies for artists and scientists, and a public art consultant, currently working with ODOT on the Willamette River Bridge project
This discussion will share perspectives into common and unique obstacles experienced with incorporating “art” into project, what types of processes have been experienced, and what some possible suggestions landscape architects may play in improving these processes.
This meeting will take place at McMenamin’s North Bank on January 19th, from noon to 1:30pm.
RSVP to Arica as soon as possible, as the restaurant needs a head count.
