A Three-session Plants Class Touring Downtown Portland
Hosted by the ASLA Oregon Chapter Emerging Professionals, this fall’s EP 101 Event offers a plants identification class. Each session will be structured around a daily theme and introduce 10 plants per session. The sessions will be on foot, combining a lecture with a walk led through 3 distinct neighborhoods in Portland.
Session 1: Natives and designing for stormwater management
Session 2: Tough, workhorse plants for larger scale urban spaces
Session 3: Popular ornamental plants that thrive in the NW, with focus on residential landscapes
The course is intended for people with a familiarity with horticulture who are looking to brush up, professionals who are new to the region or are in related fields who are looking to gain basic knowledge or a jumping off point for further study.
