Fountain Festival

Come help celebrate the return of spring and Landscape Architecture Month with an event at the Forecourt Fountain, located outside of the Ira Keller Auditorium. Oregon ASLA, in partnership with the Portland Water Bureau, celebrates this urban treasurer and landmark place. Commissioner Randy Leonard will ceremoniously turn on the fountain.

The fountain, designed by the renown Landscape Architect Lawrence Halprin, was completed in 1970. It is one of the iconic landscapes of the South Auditorium District, a product of Portland’s successful Urban Redevelopment Project in the 1960’s.

This event will provide an opportunity to recognize the stewards of this place and many other landmarks in our city and state. It is through this support that such places remain an intricate part of the Pacific Northwest fabric.

This event is free and open to the public.
