
On April 15, 2005 the Oregon Chapter of ASLA unveiled the Pacific Northwest Design-
A Retrospective project. There were approximately 125 attendees including landscape architects, architects, professors, students, nursery affiliates, members of the media, and the general public.
This event, titled “Invocation”, honored the retiring Dean for the University of Oregon School of Architecture and Allied Arts, Robert Melnick, FASLA for his 15 years of service. Also acknowledged were the University of Oregon students who participated in the 21st annual Pioneer Courthouse Square Festival of Flowers.
The evening concluded with words of inspiration and evocation by Kenny Helphand, FASLA, author and professor from the University of Oregon.
