Allan Mandell, Professional Garden Photographer

A yearlong photo expedition to Kyoto, Japan started Allan Mandell on a career photographing gardens professionally.  His images are published in major magazines in the US, Canada and Europe.  He has completed five of his own books, including 'Artists in Their Gardens' and 'Naturalistic Gardening', and has received five national Awards for his photography from the Garden Writers Association.  He currently enjoys lecturing and teaching workshops throughout the Pacific Northwest.

With great breadth of photographing Pacific Northwest gardens professionally for the past 12 years, Allan will share how he 'sees' as a photographer, sharing ideas of space, composition, and effects of garden design - all to portray the essence of a garden.
