Tad Savinar
Formally trained as a visual artist. Over the past ten years he has been concentrating his efforts on urban design exercises as a member of design teams for transportation projects, inner city revitalization designs, and urban waterfront redevelopment plans. Current projects include: Urban Design for the Seattle and Phoenix Light Rail systems, a million square foot four block contiguous mixed use master plan for downtown Portland, The Oregon Holocaust Memorial, and The Oregon Garden.

John C. Spencer, AICP
A principal of Spencer & Kupper, has focused his professional career on central city planning and urban design. He has been involved with the North Macadam Development Framework Plan, the Beaverton Creek Multiple Use District, and the Tigard Triangle Plan, as well as other high-profile projects across the Portland Metro area. Mr. Spencer has served on the City of Portland's Design Commission for the past 11 years, the past six as Chair.

Angela Dye
A licensed landscape architect with 20 plus years of professional experience in Arizona and Colorado. Her firm, A DYE DESIGN, specializes in public works that enhance the role of the pedestrian such as downtown redevelopment, urban design, transit centers, light rail systems, college campuses, streetscapes, neighborhood traffic calming, and implementation of the Grand Canyon National Park General Management Plan. She is currently Trustee for the Arizona Chapter of ASLA, and serves as the Chair of the ASLA Government Affairs committee.

Todd Wichman, ASLA
A practicing landscape architect in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul metro area. He has worked on a wide range of projects that involve the study of comprehensive land use and land planning along with master planning and site design and zoning issues. His project experience includes exposure to urban design, transportation planning and site master planning/design at a local, national and international level. Todd is currently serving as ASLA Trustee from Minnesota.

Jane Simmons, PE
A senior Project Associate with O'Brien & Company, Inc. a nationally-recognized sustainable design and construction consultancy in Bainbridge Island, Washington (www.obrienandco.com). She has over 20 years professional experience and more than five years in the area of green building, including sustainable site and landscape design and low-impact development. A LEED v2.0 Accredited Professional, Jane consults on a variety of LEED and other sustainable projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

John Blumthal
A principal in the Portland architectural firm Yost Grube Hall, and is 2002 President of the Portland Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. John's thirty-year career has included work at all scales from residential remodeling to major institutional and high-rise buildings, as well as brief periods teaching and working as a developer. John is a graduate of the University of Utah, with Bachelor of Science in Geography and Master of Architecture degrees.

Lisa Russo
A second-year graduate student in landscape architecture at the University of Oregon. She is the 2002-2003 Graduate Co-Chair for ASLA at the U of O with a background in the fine arts, graphic design and garden design. Her landscape design interests include finding innovative and regenerative ecological solutions for community and residential sites, stormwater management and brownfield rehabilitation.
