Description of Offices
The following are office descriptions for the Oregon Chapter. If you are considering running for an elected office in the future, or would like more information about specific projects or duties, please contact the current Executive Committee.

President
The President (or if absent, the Vice-President for Chapter Services) shall call and preside at all business meetings of the Chapter and Executive Committee; appoint personnel to all Committees and Task Forces and report such appointments to the Executive Committee; determine the closing date for any mail ballots; perform such duties as are customary to the office, and/or as are described in the Constitution and Bylaws, and/or may be assigned by the Executive Committee.

Vice-President for Member Services
The Vice-President for Member Services shall preside over the Chapter's Education & Professional Development Committee and Public Policy & Governmental Affairs Committee; assist the President when called upon; represent the President at his/her request; perform such other duties as are customary to the office, and/or as are described in the Constitution and Bylaws, and/or as may be assigned by the President or the Executive Committee.

Vice-President for Chapter Services
The Vice-President for Chapter Services shall preside over the Chapter's Application Review Committee, Communications Committee, and Events Committee; assist the President when called upon; represent the President at his/her request; preside in the President's absence at business meetings of the Chapter and Executive Committee; assume the Presidency in case of resignation or vacancy, until the post is filled otherwise according to the Chapter's Bylaws; perform such other duties as are customary to the office, and/or as are described in the Constitution and Bylaws, and/or may be assigned by the President or the Executive Committee.

Treasurer
The Treasurer shall collect dues, fees and other monies; be the custodian of all Chapter funds and disburse them only as authorized by the Executive Committee; keep the accounts and present financial reports to the Executive Committee periodically and at such other times as requested by the President; publish to the Chapter an annual financial statement at the end of each fiscal year; perform such other duties as are customary to the office, and/or as are described in the Constitution and Bylaws, and/or as may be assigned by the President or the Executive Committee.

Secretary
The Secretary shall keep a record of all proceedings of the Chapter and Executive Commitee; notify candidates of their election to office; issue all notices, including the presentation for mail ballot vote; maintain and keep current the Constitution and Bylaws; maintain the Chapter's roster; maintain communication with the Society's administrative headquarters; perform such other duties as are customary to the office, and/or as are described in the Constitution and Bylaws, and/or as may be assigned by the President or the Executive Committee.

Trustee
The Trustee shall represent the Chapter on the Society's Board of Trustees; present the Executive Committee's recommendations or proposals to the Board of Trustees; keep the Executive Committee informed of policies instituted by the Board of Trustees; perform such other duties as are customary to the office, and/or as are described in the Constitution and Bylaws, and/or as may be assigned by the President or the Executive Committee.

Education Chair/Member-at-Large
An Education Chair/Member-at-Large must be in the profession for 3 years. This position focuses on overseeing the PDH Committee and the LARE Prep Course. This is a voting position on the Executive Committee.

Communications Chair/Member-at-Large
A Communications Chair/Member-at-Large must be in the profession for 3 years. This position focuses on overseeing the monthly Newswire and the Oregon Chapter website (no technical web knowledge is needed as it involves providing update information only). This is a voting position on the Executive Committee.

UO Liaison/Associate-at-Large
An Associate-at-Large has been working in the profession for less than 3 years. The UO Liaison/Associate-at-Large position focuses on overseeing the UO Student Awards and the OR ASLA scholarship given each year to one UO Student. This is a voting position on the Executive Committee.

Section Chair
Section Chairs plan and organize Section Meetings for the chapter membership within their assigned region of the state. This is a voting position on the Executive Committee.

All offices are required to attend monthly Executive Committee meetings. Section chairs may send written monthly updates or teleconference in to monthly meetings in lieu of their physical presence.
