Fire in our communities is often misunderstood. We have been taught to view it as a wildland fire problem, when instead it is a home ignition and community design problem. With the right knowledge and preparation, we can have a backyard habitat, be wildfire prepared, and prevent homes from igniting during fast-moving wildfires. This presentation will help landscape architects and designers lead the way in creating site-scale landscapes that are beautiful, livable, habitat-friendly, and wildfire prepared.
